The CAR2548DC and the CAR1212DC are dc-input front-end power supplies. The CAR2548DC supply offers a power-density of 27-W/in.3, the highest available power density in the industry, in a 1U form factor. The modules are designed to be deployed alongside existing ac/dc power supplies in datacom and telecom applications. They are able to receive 48-Vdc input power from telecom energy systems or battery-backup equipment, and in turn, provide precise 12 and 48-V power out to connected communications, computing and storage equipment.

These front-end units accept the required dc-input voltage needed for applications that are housed in decentralized networks or for environments that are implementing 12-V power architectures for mobile wireless voice and video services. The CAR2548DC measures 1.61 x 4 x 14.25 in., provides 52-A at 48 V, delivers 2,5000 W, and has an output voltage range of 43.2 to 56 Vdc. The CAR1212DC measures 1.61 x 4 x 11.2-in., delivers 1,200 W, 100-A at 12 V and has an output voltage range of 10.8 to 13.2 Vdc.
